If you want more information or would like to book, please get in contact using the form at the very bottom of this page.

Working on a location is a great way to give your portraits a unique look. First there’s the location itself which can be used to create amazing sets and backgrounds. Then there’s the weather which can completely transform a location and how you approach your portrait shoot.

For this one to one (or very small group) workshop, we’ll make use of the amazing Gatwick Aviation Museum in Surrey. The location has a mix of inside and outside shooting opportunities as well as open fields and undercover areas. We’ll also have unique access to areas that are restricted to the general public and plenty of time to explore this ever changing and one of a kind location.

We’ll be joined by one of our experienced and very patient models who will work with us to make sure you get some great photos. Their outfit will change during the session so you’ll get the chance to shoot a couple of different styles. Looks will vary according to the model and weather but might include, vintage aviator, vintage explorer, classic fashion and even post apocalypse.

Gavin will be with you all the way and after an initial chat at the location the content can be tailored to your requirements. You don’t need you’re own flash gear as we will have everything you need but if you want to bring your lights, you’re very welcome to do so. Gavins aim is always to help you get the most from what you already have rather then confuse you with kit you don’t need.

Some of the areas covered (depending on the weather) include…

  • How to balance ambient light with off camera flash
  • Wet weather shooting tips
  • Overpower the sun with flash
  • When to use High Speed Sync flash… and when not to!
